      It's an option. But it will take longer and you will have to keep getting in and out of the car to make sure the air is bled out (unless you have a second person that can watch).

      Fluid barely dripped out while I was installing it, and if the fluid is moving out, air will not reenter. Again, this worked like a charm with zero issues. If you want to do it another way, by all means go for it. I'll keep doing it the proven way that's worked for decades.

    And you should only put five quarts back in because the thermostat won’t open when it cold and it hold fluid in the line and radiator. Check a couple days after driving and see where it’s at. Mine has always been good with five

    • @TrickShiftGarage

      Oh ok, I just put back in what came out. I ended up losing 8 quarts mainly because I let the truck sit for a few days so more drained out. First, I put back 6 quarts and then measured it after warming it up and it was extremely low. Then added 2 quarts and it was fine. Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍

    I can take my pan off without lowering the exhaust or raising the trans. And you don’t have to take that heat shield off. All you have to do is twist it so the low spot in the back of the pan is bet the exhaust and pull it out towards the front.

    I just bought my truck, a 2015 GMC 2500HD crew cab LB 6.0 in February. Today it was about 75 degrees and I took it for a 65 mile round trip on the highway. My trans temp never went over 144 degrees. I guess I'll have to wait for hot weather or tow something heavy to get the temp up. 192,000 miles. My fluid was very brown when I bought it, so I changed it, ran the truck for a few minutes, and then changed it again.

He put a 4” Rough Country lift on his ‘91 f150 4wd and the truck is rocking side to side like no ones business. I’m not impressed with that lift kit but it’s what he could find for that year and model. The RC shocks are crap. I think we’ll put front spacers on and upgrade to Bilstein and see if that helps. @TrickShiftGarage actually, I realized you already figured you needed all 8 qts because the torque converter carries some too, but a good rule of thumb is to always replace what you took out. Thanks for the great video sir!!

    18:55 Great video guide! Very much appreciated for the video. My 2018 traverse doesn't have any of those issues,but this video will come in handy when the time comes. This is by far one of a kind vehicle that was properly built with the proper layout and placememt of every parts. When it comes to serviceable. It is the easiest vehicle ever to be service. Zero problematic. Just boom boom....done! No fuss! Try servicing hey other vehicle and you're bound to run into one problem after another because they're laid out in the most awkward place that just absolutely made zero sense that you have to tear all these other parts apart JUST to get access to one little thing.

    Do you have to put a jack of somekind under the engine when removing the mount?

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage 7 днів тому

      Yeah, I just used my hydraulic jack and a block of wood on the oil pan to keep it upright as I took the engine mount off. Worked like a charm lol. Thanks for watching!🙂

    I watched this video three time. First to see how you did it. Next One for taking the cover off. Then again when I was stuck trying to get it back on. Working on a 13 suburban. It did fit but if I had not seen you do it I would have given up and pulled the exhaust loose. Many thanks man👍
